Brief of Incident

On 10th Nov’2018 at about 1215 hrs, No. 133305201 SI (GD) Mahendra Singh, left COB Udanpur along with Aggressive ops party (AGG ops party) for area search and domination of area around at booth No. 124 of Sambalpur for conduct of Assembly Election - 2018.  At about 110835 Hrs, when Ops party of COB Udanpur was moving towards Gattakal and Gome after night domination duty, a series of IEDs were blasted by Maoists followed by heavy firing on ops party in dense jungle.    No. 133305201 SI (GD) Mahendra Singh sustained splinter injury on neck. Immediately, No. 133305201 SI (GD) Mahendra Singh was evacuated to PHC Udanpur (Koyalibeda) but he succumbed to grievous injuries and attained martyrdom.
